The idea behind the bench is to encourage people in Taunton to stop, sit and talk. Just like our physical, we all have mental health. Taking a little time every now and then to look after ourselves is super important. Especially after the weird year that we’ve all had and with Christmas on the horizon. The bench has been installed in Goodlands Gardens Taunton so make a visit!

Artist and Time to Connect Champion Charlie Mcfarley painted a graffiti mural in the Minehead EYE skatepark, as a cheery reminder to look after our mental as well as our physical health.  Charlie created the character ‘Brian the Brain’ who can be seen exercising! He said

When I am painting all my anxieties disappear and I am in the moment. Positive mental health is really important to Minehead EYE and we want people to know that’s is more than OK to talk about it. I joined with the Time to Connect campaign because Stigma and discrimination still exist and it can stop us talking! I hope we can help Connect this everywhere eventually , but lets start here at the EYE!

The future of mental health with 19-year old, Haleem Clift, made with the Time to Connect campaign.

Having struggled with his own mental health, Haleem wanted to explore the subject of mental health as a whole, to find out where we are with the topic and what more needs to be done.

He interviews the general public as well as influential figures in this field.

A great watch for anyone who’s experienced difficulties with their mental health, or for anyone who is remotely interested in the subject.

Please watch and share!
