Time to Talk Day

Time to Talk Day 2020 could be Somerset’s best yet. Under the banner of Somerset Speaks Up, there will be events running across the county which aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. With 1 in 4 of us expected to encounter mental health difficulties, Time to Talk Day promotes conversations between colleagues, friends or loved ones about mental health. Something so simple can make a huge difference to someone you know – make sure you take the time to truly listen to how the people you ask are feeling.

There is a host of activities taking place around the 6th of February, from radio interviews to laughing yoga. Please see the list below for the in depth table of events near you:

In addition to this, 2BU will be attending events in colleges around the county, speaking with young people to end stigma and discrimination, 10 Radio in Wiveliscombe will be running several pieces on Time to Talk and we are working with BBC Somerset to promote the day too. The Time to Change team will also be attending events and speaking to promote having those conversations that really matter.
