Welcome Hubs – Supporting Displaced People Across SomersetÂ
As part of the Welcome to All project, Mind in Somerset coordinates with SASP and D’Loummmies to provide a wraparound service.Â
Â
At Mind in Somerset, we’re proud to be part of a compassionate partnership working within the Welcome Hubs—safe, welcoming spaces for Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Migrant Workers across Somerset. These hubs, established by CHARIS in collaboration with Somerset County Council, are now active in communities including Taunton, Yeovil, Frome, Wells, Bridgwater, Watchet, and other local venues.Â
Together with our colleagues at SASP and D’Loummmies, we offer mental health and wellbeing support for all ages, tailored to the unique experiences and needs of displaced people. Our work is rooted in kindness, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and part of their community.Â
The Welcome Hubs are designed to empower individuals to build independence and find belonging in their new surroundings. We help people connect with both statutory services and community resources, ensuring they have access to the support they need to thrive.Â
As part of the Welcome to All project, Mind in Somerset provides a wraparound service—offering one-to-one support, group activities, and gentle introductions to further services. This includes referrals to Open Mental Health, other Mind in Somerset programmes, and links to local activities that promote wellbeing and connection.Â
We also work closely with professionals and volunteers, sharing information and building bridges to ensure displaced people are not just supported—but truly welcomed. Our aim is to be advocates, helping individuals feel seen, heard, and valued as part of the Somerset community.Â
