What is the Time to Change Somerset Hub?
Time to Change is a growing movement of people changing how we all think and act about mental health. Time to Change Somerset Hub is a partnership of local organisations and people who are committed to ending mental health stigma and discrimination.
Time to Change Somerset is made up of Mind in Somerset, Somerset County Council Public Health, Heads Up Wells, Compass Disability, and the Sedgemoor Together Team, along with support from partners across the county, including Champions and employers.
How is the Somerset hub run?
The Time to Change Somerset hub is run by people with lived experience of mental health issues alongside organisations committed to challenging mental health stigma and discrimination.
The hub has a steering group made up of a wider partnership, with a Time to Change Champions group and hub co-ordinators group ensuring the work of the hub has lived experience of mental health leadership at its heart.
When did the hub launch?
Back in February 2019, the national Time to Change campaign announced the launch of four new local hubs, of which Somerset was one.
The Hubs aim
Our ambition is for Somerset to become a county where everyone feels safe speaking out about mental health issues and where people can secure the support they need when they need it. Becoming a Time to Change hub will be instrumental in the work to bring our county together to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination
By working together as a county and using the expertise and support offered by the national Time to Change campaign, we believe we can make great progress towards Somerset becoming a county free from stigma and discrimination around mental health.
