Our aim is to work together with local mental health organisations across Somerset and those with lived experience of mental health to help end mental health stigma and discrimination
Time To Change Somerset, formally known as ‘Brolly Talk’, has for the last 2 years been travelling across the county talking to people of all ages and background about mental health. In those 2 years we’ve been pleasantly surprised of how attitudes towards mental health are improving and how negative opinions can be easily changed by something as simple as a 5 minute conversation.
However, there’s still much much more work to be done. That why Time To Change Somerset exists. To empower and support those with a lived experience of mental health issues to speak out about their experiences.
Our project is run by volunteers, without whom we simply couldn’t operate. Our volunteers love taking part in our events and talking to people about their experiences. They feel empowered and safe in the knowledge that they are using their experiences to change things for the better.
If you’d like to be involved with Time To Change Somerset we have various roles available across the county just get in touch with Marc at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here have a selection of blogs from our Time To Change Somerset bloggers. We hope you will find in them some words of inspiration and If you do have a mental health issue be comforted that your not alone.
